In 1880 Margaret Steiff made her very first 'Elefantle' and gave it as a gift for her sister-in-law Anna Steiff. This is where Steiff began coming to us with their worldwide famous soft toys.

So to remember this special time Steiff have made a white wool felt elephant with a saddle cloth made from yellow and blue. And on the top of the saddle cloth they have marked the initials 'AS' which reminds you that this superb piece was made for 'Anna Steiff'.
The removable saddlecloth is attached by hand with 14 black pins that match the elephant's glass bead eyes.

Margarete Steiff sold her first little elephant piece from her workshop in 1880 - so the year we are in of 2020 marks the event Steiff name now as '140 Years Friends for Life'.
This event from 1880 paved the way for a new worldwide phenomenon of Steiff for soft toys and highly collectible limited editions.

This LITTLE FELT ELEPHANT comes in a limited edition of just 1,880 pieces worldwide and to cover this he comes with a large 'Elefantle' pendant marking the 140th Anniversary Collection.
